Morimoto Shintaro x Matsumura Hokuto

We also have this side, that the type of girls we like is surprisingly similar

Shintaro: Lately, we have a lot of Junior activities together so the time we spend together is long, right.

Hokuto: Yeah. It’s a pattern where we at first eat meal together and then like that, go to work together.

Shintaro: With a mood like ”today we have work there so let’s eat at that place then”, we always decide on the place to eat really fast.

Hokuto: Like ”that place on that exit” (laughs). Our chat is fast so it’s comforting.

Shintaro: When we’re eating, well, we’re around that age so we also talk about girls (laughs).

Hokuto: We two, the type of girls we like seems like it’d be totally different but there are parts that are super similar, right. ”A girl with a short-cut is nice~” and so on.

Shintaro: Our strike zones are different but we get super excited over the talk like “ah, that’s also nice, I understand~!”.

Hokuto: After all, it’s fun to have s talk like that. Then, the thing we’re doing our best right now is… pole dancing! [T/N: the interview was done in early May]

Shintaro: You know, the only thing I can say about it is that it’s hard, really.

Hokuto: Our skin also becomes bright red because of all the scrubbing.

Shintaro: At first I thought “this is really impossible!”. But after we’ve learned some of the techniques, it’s gradually become more fun.

Hokuto: That’s right. But it’d be good if everyone could feel that it’s not only fun but also that we’re really desperately doing it.

Shintaro: Because we’re surely doing it franticly*. On the show, we have to succeed. [* T/N: gamushara in japanese]

Hokuto: We will succeed. If we won’t, we’ll completely lose our reputation (laughs).

Shintaro: Surely in this Potato’s live report pages, there’ll be a report like ”just along with the declaration, it was a huge success!” (laughs). I mean, all our junior activities are like that. No matter how hard a task, it’s our job to accomplish it.

Hokuto: Right. And it doesn’t matter whether the preparation time is long or short. We have no choice but to properly show everyone a high level of completion.

Shintaro: That’s Johnny’s!

Hokuto: ...even though we said something cool like that, we haven’t succeeded at all yet~ (laughs).

Shintaro: Crap~ (laughs)

I think that because we’ve had frustrating feelings, we’re able to make progress

Hokuto: It’s like that now when we’re doing this talk too but we have this fairly hot-blooded side as well.

Shintaro: We do. It’s been like that ever since we did the drama ”Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou”.

Hokuto: We often had enthusiastic talks with the two of us.

Shintaro: We both hate losing, so whatever the other does, one absolutely wants to surpass that.

Hokuto: One becomes frustrated, right. Like with the pole dancing we’re doing right now, if Shintaro does more advanced thing than me, I go ”damn it!”.

Shintaro: Then, I become like ”Hokuto’s going that far, so I will try and go even more beyond that”...

Hokuto: When I watch that, I’m again fired up like ”I go even more farther!”...

Shintaro: Finally, sensei’s like ”let’s do only about this much today” and comes to stop us, right (laughs).

Hokuto: But feelings like that are important.

Shintaro: Of course. Exactly because it’s frustrating, one’s able to make progress, I think.

Hokuto: It’d be good if we could grow while supporting each other’s motivation like that.

Shintaro: That’s right. And then lastly, our recent situation. Ah, it’ll soon be Hokuto’s birthday. What are the aspirations of a 19-year-old?

Hokuto: It would be good if I could do my best with the immediate things one-by-one. And with the feeling of extension of the things that I’ve done up until now, and in a good way not getting too worked up by them.

Shintaro: If you hear the age 19, it feels adult-like but our appearance looks the same (laughs).

Hokuto: Certainly. Shintaro’s recent situation... the indulgence of surfing as usual?

Shintaro: I love surfing [/Ai rabu saafin XD]!

Hokuto: To get so into one thing is really great.

Shintaro: It’s a surprise even to myself. Hokuto’s also into miscellaneous goods/interior goods, aren’t you.

Hokuto: Lately it’s like that I guess. I really like natural-like interior and the like. I often go and walk around in shops.

Shintaro: Hokuto knows all kinds of shops. If one goes together with you, one can buy anything (laughs).

Hokuto: I really make you walk a lot though.

Shintaro: But it’s fun when you make many discoveries ♪ Let’s go shopping again.

Matsumura Hokuto x Kyomoto Taiga x Morohoshi Shoki

Magnetize

When the shooting happened, the shows of Johnny’s Ginza Johnny’s Jr. PART 1 had just ended. So, we firmly asked their thoughts on the shows!

Kyomoto Taiga

With Johnny’s Ginza, I was able to appear in ~Sound and the Jr. one, and both of them were fun. In the junior one there were a large number of people, nine of us, so at first I was wondering how it’ll turn out but with a lot of people there’s also intensity. And then, the lighting was also done in a really cool way. The lighting is important. Because the atmosphere suddenly changes with that.

Right right, on the last day of Jr PART 1 shows, Hokuto and Shintaro became teary. We all who appeared in Bakaleya are really easily moved to tears (laughs). During the movie’s theater greetings, when we were coming back home on Shinkansen we all cried, and a while ago on Takizawa Kabuki’s final show, I also cried a lot. During the scene between me and my father (Kyomoto Masaki), I got permission from Takizawa-kun to change my lines. Up until then, while I died on Benkei’s arms, I had said ”this is satisfaction” but on that day, I said ”only you, please live”. And then my father too improvised and changed his lines. Although he usually only says my character’s name, that time he listed the names of the other characters and said ”all these young people’s lives pointlessly taken…”. When I heard that, tears just started falling... even though I was dead (laughs). That became a scene that I will never forget. During the very last greeting too, I was crying so much that I couldn’t really speak. I was able to get a really great experience.

Matsumura Hokuto

Eh, on the last day of Crea’s PART 1, my eyes were teary? Right, can’t be helped that it leaks out (laughs). I really had the confidence that I wouldn’t cry. And it’s not like this was my last show ever or anything. But on that day, even though we did double encore, the calls of “encore!” wouldn’t stop. We were like “Even though we don’t have any song anymore, should we go back? Let’s at least convey our thanks!”, and we all returned to the stage. And there we spoke our gratitude to the members and fans.
After that, someone started talking about the opening song. And then, the mood from our meetings with everyone, the rehearsal situations, the real shows... all at once, I recalled all those scenes in my mind. When Yasui-kun stood in front of Nozawa-kun’s mic stand and everyone tsukkomi’d like ”that’s totally wrong!” or when we became fired up like ”it’s meaningless if we do the rehearsals tepidly. Let’s show more fighting spirit!”... I suddenly remembered all that. Moreover, fans called for us three times for an encore. Such warm members and then fans, too, I thought and before I realized, I became teary. The feeling of love in that venue was really the best. After we’d returned backstage, Juri said to me ”You, stop that really, you’ll make me cry too!” (laughs). But really, that was time of happiness. I wonder if this will become a drama version as a sequel of SHARK or something (laughs).

Morohoshi Shoki

I did my best at Crea shows! Especially with my personal highlights, which were ”Lucky Man” done with Juri and Hagi-chan, the dance I did with Shintaro, and Morosasaizu. With Lucky Man, the choreographer gave us ideas and was like ”wouldn’t it be good to make it in a funny way?”. So we discussed it with Juri and decided we’d use otaku clothes but, as a result, we were worried if Hagi-chan would accept that or not. But when it was the real show, Hagi-chan was the most excited (laughs).

As for the dance with no singing with Shintaro, we were once fooling around and doing this gorigori like dancing and Hokuto, who saw that, said ”what if you did that on Crea?”. After the show, Yasui-kun said ”it looked good, it was great” and it made me happy. The staff-san from Wink Up, who came there for coverage, also told ”it had ”The Young Man” feeling, it was good!”. I’m the most happy about the positive feedback from fans but when you get true opinion from the people around you and are praised, it makes me really really happy.

Then, with Morosasaizu, at the moment the second half (of the shows) ended, I was like ”If there is a possibility, I definitely want to do this again!”. The audience too cooperated well. And in fan letters, there were impressions like ”The stable Moro-san was really good!”. It’d be nice if someday there’d be ”the appearance of Moro-san in YokoAri!” (laughs).
